Welcome to Blue Class September 2020 - July 2021
It has been fantastic to see everyone again! I have been impressed by the way Blue Class have settled back into school routines and shown enthusiasm for new learning.
We are learning about the Greeks this term in History and our Art work has been linked to this theme. The children designed some lovely Greek vases which are on display in the classroom and they are going to make plates and vases from clay very soon! They are also enjoying our work on Greek myths in English and beasts and monsters such as the Gorgons, the Minotaur and the Chimera have been particularly appealing!
In Science, the children have been learning about the properties of materials and extending their scientific vocabulary. We learnt about which materials were soluble and insoluble and then investigated the factors that could speed up or slow down the dissolving process.
The children are also enjoying learning about Islam in RE and are developing their programming skills using Scratch in Computing.
Blue Class were delighted to receive a letter from the author Nicola Davies recently. She kindly gave each child individual feedback on poems they had written prior to lockdown. She also enclosed another of her books for us to enjoy and a bookmark for every child.
Finally, congratulations go to a former pupil (Elisha) and Lewis who won first prize and commended respectively in a county-wide poetry competition! What talented children we have at Primrose Lane!
